The Cook/Maintenance is responsible for the preparation of meals for the client population as well as cleaning of the building and grounds.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a High School diploma or GED. Six months experience in menu planning and preparation of bulk quantities of food. Position requires a food handler certificate within six months of employment. May require lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds without assistance.


 PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare bulk quantities of food, maintain portion control and arrange food in an appetizing manner.

  2. Assist in the planning of menus, including adherence to special diet order in applicable programs.

  3. Maintain sanitary conditions in the food preparation areas.

  4. Assist in the inventory of foodstuffs, utensils and supplies.

  5. Clean all interior and exterior areas on a scheduled and as needed basis. Dispose of garbage properly and regularly.

  6. Assist in preparation of residential and program space.

  7. Observe and report maintenance problems and safety hazards. Provide back up in emergency safety situations.

  8. Assist in inventory control.

  9. Perform other duties that may be assigned.
